(More customer reviews)If a satirist set out to parody a right-wing, born-again Christian with a deep hatred for traditional Asian culture and religion, the result would be something like this book. Much of it is devoted to writing about the noble Christians who set out to save the souls of the poor savages, only to get raped and slaughtered. Durschmied has no sympathy for the victims of cultural or economic imperialism. If, at any point, Chinese people fought back against their invaders and oppressors, Durschmied portrays them as sexually deviant murderers. The non-Christians among the Chinese, Durschmied would have us believe, all resemble Hannibal Lector without the fastidiousness.
This book espouses a bloodthirsty, insane worldview, based on fanatical Christian dogma and racist portrayals of the Chinese that read like they came from the pages of dimestore pulp novels.
