This book showcases what Filipinos can do in modern architecture and interior design, while still incorporating the notably unique and vibrant tropical style. The houses featured in this book used a number of West, East, traditional, even tribal elements that can only be truly Filipino. A great reference material for people into modern architecture with a tropical twist. It's a feast!

This book is the absolute best day by day history of the Civil War that I have ever encountered. It makes you feel as though you are there and able to relive the actual day's with the soldiers and commanding officers. Every care has been taken to cover detail and events as they took place. I would love to see another published dealing with the Civil War Hospitals by the same author.Mr Denney excels in his field. Thank You for a GREAT book and information contained therein.

Spider World: The Tower (Spider World: Epic Visionary Fiction) (Bk. 1) Review

Spider World: The Tower (Spider World: Epic Visionary Fiction) (Bk. 1)

Dig
this is a great yarn, with a huge world to let your mind wander through. The first half is an interactive Discovery special on the insect kingdom, except you're trapped in the TV with them. Life is rough for the characters and you look up expecting your own skin to be sunburned and your belly empty. But it's all foreward moving, foreward thinking. Our hero grows on each page and ends the book thinking entirely for himself. The Spider Kingdom is at once frighteningly sterile, and exceedingly organic at the same time. The perversion of the insects seems abrupt until you meet the humans. Our yarnspinner Wilson is definitely trying to say something about the nature of the human race, and once I dream about it for a few more weeks, I'll be able to tell you what that message is.

Revolt on the Tigris: The Al-Sadr Uprising and the Governing of Iraq Review

Revolt on the Tigris: The Al-Sadr Uprising and the Governing of Iraq
Average Reviews:

Well written and offers insight into problems with conditions, people of Iraq, and sub-contractor who were in South-Central Iraq during the Sadr uprising.
This reviewer was there. Thus has first-hand experience of what happened. The author (Etherington) gives you a account of what was happening. Unfortunately, he slants his management and leadership style (and why not, he was the author)favorably and omits his mistakes in leadership, his ego, utter reliance and trust of those he led; however, it is a must read on issues and events occuring 2003/2004.

This book is a must read for anyone into the Electric guitar, or the histories of country music and rock and roll. Albert's career is an amazing journey and Mr. Watts does a superb job of taking us along for the ride.

Best known for his unique musical style and blindingly fast hybrid picking technique, English guitarist Albert Lee is often referred to within the music industry as the "guitar player's guitar player," renowned for his work across several genres of music and for the respect that he has garnered from other industry giants. This comprehensive biography tells the entire story of Lee's long career and personal experiences, beginning with his upbringing in south London and his early experimentations with skiffle music (the British equivalent of American rockabilly). It covers Lee's career in Chris Farlowe's Thunderbirds and the British rock and country group Heads, Hands, and Feet, his move to the United States in the 1970s and his subsequent work with Eric Clapton, the Crickets, Emmylou Harris and the Hot Band, the Everly Brothers, and, more recently, with Bill Wyman and with Hogan's Heroes. Lee's career is set against the background of changes in popular music and shows how he, as a British artist with nomadic Romany roots, has influenced traditionally "American" musical genres. The work includes 66 photographs, many from Lee's personal collection, two appendices, and an extensive bibliography.

Taste of Nepal (Hippocrene Cookbook Library) Review

Taste of Nepal (Hippocrene Cookbook Library)
Average Reviews:

"Taste of Nepal" is truly an encyclopedia of Nepali cuisine with a wealth of popular and specialty Nepali dishes from "momos" to "Raajkhaani Taareko"!It is a great book for young Nepalese like me studying in the US. I used to have to call up my aunts living in the US and ask, "How do I make tama-aloo tarkari like Ma used to make in Kathmandu OR What masala aren't you supposed to put in eggplant?" Now, I've got a reference book right in my kitchen. I would highly recommend the book to anyone delving into Nepali cuisine for the first time or to those like me who wished they had paid more attention to their mothers/grandmothers in the kitchen.

Winner of the 2008 "Best Foreign Cuisine Book," Gourmand World Cookbook Awards
The landlocked nation of Nepal is tucked into the Himalayan Mountains between India and China (Tibet). Possessed of a varied landscape and such treasures as Mount Everest, the Nepalese are proud of their time-worn temples, sublime scenery, hiking trails, and a rich and vibrant culture. The cuisine is surprisingly diverse for such a small country, with influences from Chinese and Indian culinary methods and tastes.
One of the very few Nepali cookbooks on the market, Taste of Nepal is a thorough and comprehensive guide to this cuisine, featuring more than 350 authentic recipes, a section on well-known Nepali herbs and spices, menu planning, Nepalese kitchen equipment, and delightful illustrations. Instructions are clearly detailed and most ingredients are readily available in the United States. Complete with illustrations.
There is something for everyone in this book. For the most timid cook--Fried Rice (Baasi-Bhaat Bhutuwa) or Stir-Fried Chicken (Kukhura Taareko) are easily achievable. The adventurous home chef will be tempted to try Goat Curry (Khasi-Boka ko Maasu) and Sun-Dried Fish with Tomato Chutney (Golbheda ra Sidra Maacha).
